Review: Vincenzo’s Pizza House

Browse By

Vincenzo’s is a long established pizza restaurant situated on Park Street above TM Lewin’s. The building was bombed during the Second World War. I frequently walk past it and have always wondered what it was like. I decided to visit last Friday, and was very impressed by the service, food and design of the restaurant. Once again I was accompanied by James, who had also wanted to dine at Vincenzo’s for a long time.

Entering Vincenzo’s was like stepping into Italy. The walls are adorned with artwork, photos and postcards paying testament to the long history of the restaurant. We were lucky to get a table, as it was quite busy, but we were very quickly seated and presented with the diverse menu offering both pizza and pasta of every type. James and I went for the Pizza Inferno whilst the other members of my group chose traditional Margheritas. We ordered and about fifteen minutes later, all four of our pizzas arrived. This is one of Vincenzo’s strongest characteristics, the food arrives very quickly.

My Pizza Inferno

My Pizza Inferno with plenty of chillies

The food at Vincenzo’s is great and the pizzas are large, well cooked and with good proportions of ingredients. Often at pizza restaurants, “spicy” pizzas do not live up to their claim and lack sufficient amounts of chilli. At Vincenzo’s, the name Inferno was fully justified. This made the pizza an incredible experience, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone dining here. I have been informed that the Margherita pizza was “very good”.

“I really liked the aesthetic of the restaurant, as well as the high quality food and service.”

The service at Vincenzo’s is incredible and every member of the team was friendly and looked after us very well. Furthermore, the prices were very reasonable, especially as the food was of very high standard.

“While there is not to me any Italian blood, I know Italian food. Having eaten the food, I was very pleased. I wish to explore the kitchen of Vincenzo’s in future, tasting yet more of their food and enjoying yet more of the warm service.”
James Palmer

Vincenzo’s should definitely be visited by anyone looking for a quick, yet exceptionally good quality pizza. I recommend the Pizza Inferno (but only if you enjoy chilli) however I am sure that any other choice will also be a very tasty experience.
